Tuolumne County Receives Gold at California State Fair

July 16, 2025

Last Friday, the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau received a Gold Ribbon at the California State Fair for their Tuolumne County exhibit. Every year the TCVB enters the Counties Exhibits to promote Tuolumne County to thousands of fairgoers.   This year's theme is Feasts and Festivals

The Tuolumne County exhibit highlights locally grown and produced products, annual events and iconic landmarks, like Column of the Giants and Railtown 1897 State Historic Park.  Additional highlights include Me-Wuk history and artifacts, Gold Rush history and historic buildings.  “The design this year was unique to anything else we've ever seen at the State Fair. We used a relief art concept in building the exhibit which gave it a special artistic touch,” stated Anna Davies, Special Projects Coordinator for the TCVB.

Volunteers from Tuolumne County work throughout the fair to answer questions and give out information. Davies worked with designer and builder Richard Bay to come up with a concept and messaging for the exhibit.  Victoria Smith, local 4-Her, gave the County presentation to the judges.    The Ribbon was received at the County Awards Ceremony and Dinner held at Cal Expo on opening day of the California State Fair. The California State Fair runs through July 26th at Cal Expo in Sacramento.
