Tuolumne County Fire Information

August 06, 2024

Currently, there are two fires burning in the Tuolumne County area, the Ferguson Fire and the Donnell Fire. The Ferguson fire is burning in the Yosemite area and the Donnell Fire is burning in the Tuolumne County High Sierra. Road closures due to the fire are at opposite ends of the County and include Highway 108 at Eagle Meadows and Highway 120 at the Big Oak Flat entrance to Yosemite. The Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau (TCVB) is working to keep fire information updated and information of resources for those impacted by both the Ferguson Fire and the Donnell Fire.

Fire information:

With heavy smoke conditions and highway road closures, the TCVB's focus is to keep everyone informed. The health and safety of residents and visitors are paramount. If people do choose to visit or are already in the area, most businesses remain open for what is normally a very busy summer season.

Lisa Mayo, TCVB Executive Director comments, “As these fires burn in the area, we are reminded of the fragile beauty of this place we get to call home. Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends and neighbors directly impacted by these fires. The TCVB wants to express our immense gratitude to all those working to suppress the fires. When the fires are out and the smoke settles, we look forward to bringing visitors back to these iconic Tuolumne County destinations. In the meantime, the TCVB will continue to update with the most accurate information possible and will only repost information that is given to us from sources managing the incidents.”
