- Two new hotels opening in 2024: Firefall Ranch and Chicken Ranch Casino Resort.
- Firefall Ranch is now accepting reservations for May 2024 and beyond. Firefall sits on 300 acres along Yosemite's Hwy 120 West corridor. With 55 standalone Cottages and Villas, the Ranch also offers fine dining, a tavern and wine room, and pool area. Sister properties Rush Creek Lodge & Spa and Evergreen Lodge are nearby.
- Opening in June 2024, the Chicken Ranch Casino Resort in Jamestown will be the largest hotel in the county with 175 rooms, 22 suites. 12,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, rooftop dining and six other restaurants and bars, a resort swimming pool and a casino with windows with views of the Sierra foothills and peaks of Yosemite.
- Sonora Selfie Trail joins the newly-updated Craft Beverage Trail and Craft Burger Trail in leading the way for fun. The Selfie Trail is a collection of cultural and historical treasures, natural gems, and unique artistry to explore in Sonora. The Beverage and Burger passports provide curated collections of local restaurants offering deals and discounts throughout Tuolumne County.
- Tuolumne County joins the Blue Zone Project. What began as a New York Times bestseller by National Geographic Fellow Dan Buettner about places where people lived measurably better and longer – called “Blue Zones” - has evolved into a global movement that's inspiring people to live longer more active lives. Blue Zones Project® encourages communities to make changes that lead to healthier options. When the entire community participates—from worksites and schools to restaurants and grocery stores—the small changes contribute to huge benefits for all: lowered healthcare costs, improved productivity, and ultimately, a higher quality of life. - For the most enriching Yosemite experience, plan ahead and follow the road less traveled. Reservations will be required to enter Yosemite National Park for some dates and times on April 13-Oct. 27, 2024. Reservations are not required (a) to visit the dramatic Hetch Hetchy area of the park, (b) if you visit with a park-authorized tour operator, or (c) if you enter the park before 5 am or after 4 pm.
